I was born into a very loving and supportive family, but it wasn’t a Christian family. After moving from Florida during the fourth grade, my family lived in California, Texas, and then finally Oklahoma before my junior year of high school. During this time we only attended church on Easter Sunday and the annual Christmas Eve service. Thankfully, one day a classmate in my English class invited me to go to church with him. Through God placing key people in my life and them sharing with me about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I trusted in Jesus Christ as my Savior in March 1988.

My calling into ministry developed during my college years. Being a part of a dynamic campus ministry and working as a counselor at camp during the summer, the Lord grew a heart in me to serve Him with my whole life. I always felt energized and the Lord seemed to use me in an effective manner when ministering to youth. Then one morning while reading Proverbs 7, I felt as if God was telling me I was someone He could use to help youth gain spiritual wisdom and knowledge, so that they wouldn’t stray onto a path of destruction.
